Skin tags, warts and sun spots rarely do any harm, but they catch on collars, snag on necklaces and draw your eye every time you pass a mirror. CryoPen removes them with a fine jet of extreme cold. It freezes the blemish and leaves the surrounding healthy skin untouched.
At House of Health, a consultant carries out your treatment, not a beauty therapist. That difference matters because a lesion should be examined and confirmed to be harmless before anyone freezes it. Patients searching for private CryoPen wart removal in Birmingham usually want two things: a fast appointment and a proper medical opinion behind the result. You get both here, without the NHS wait.
CryoPen uses a fine, high-pressure jet of nitrous oxide to freeze and destroy benign tissue. The device does the freezing, but the doctor thinks. Our consultant examines the lesion, confirms what it is, and only then decides whether cold is the right treatment.
Our consultant examines every lesion before treatment, using dermoscopy where needed, so you know exactly what we are removing and why.
The micro-jet targets the blemish alone. We can treat a skin tag a few millimetres across without touching the skin beside it.
Your doctor sets the freeze depth and duration to suit the lesion type, its size and where it sits on your body.
You leave with clear healing instructions, and we stay available if anything about the recovery worries you.

We price CryoPen based on the number of lesions we treat and the amount of work each one requires, and we confirm the figure with you at your consultation before anything goes ahead. Simple freezing often takes place during that same appointment, so many patients walk out treated on the day they walk in.
| Option | Typical use | More info |
|---|---|---|
| Single lesion | One small skin tag, wart or sun spot. | A quick, precise freeze for an isolated benign growth. Usually done inside the consultation. |
| Multiple lesions | Up to five benign lesions in one sitting. | We treat several skin tags or spots in a single appointment rather than spreading them across visits. |
| Larger or stubborn lesions | Bigger warts or more complex benign spots. | Your doctor adjusts the freeze depth and may schedule a second session where needed. |
CryoPen uses an ultra-precise jet of nitrous oxide (N₂O) to freeze and eliminate unwanted skin lesions while protecting the surrounding healthy tissue. It is quick, effective, and minimally invasive.

A face-to-face consultation with our Consultant. No GP referral needed, and same-day appointments are often available.
Your doctor examines the lesion, uses a dermatoscope where it helps, and confirms it is benign and suitable for freezing before going any further.
A targeted jet of extreme cold freezes the lesion. Each one takes seconds. You may feel a brief sting or a sharp cold sensation, similar to a strong nip.
The treated area often darkens and forms a small crust. You go straight back to normal activities, and we send you home with clear instructions on keeping the site clean and dry.
The crust lifts away on its own over the next few weeks as new skin forms underneath. Book a follow-up if you want the site reviewed, or ring us sooner if anything concerns you.
Have more than six lesions, or a larger area to treat? We will provide you with a clear, personalised quote during your consultation. Some lesions, particularly warts and verrucas, may need more than one session, which we will always discuss with you in advance. Skin lesion removal is a cosmetic treatment and is usually self-funded.

Co-Founder & CEO of House of Health
An NHS GP with more than ten years’ experience, Dr Raja co-founded House of Health and leads it as CEO. She sets the clinical standards the whole team works to, and she is a familiar face on British television, where she has spent years making health information easier to understand.
CryoPen is a medical cryotherapy device. It delivers a fine, targeted jet of nitrous oxide at very low temperature, which freezes a benign skin lesion and destroys the tissue inside it.
Anyone with benign skin tags, warts or sun damage such as actinic keratosis, provided our expert has examined the lesion and confirmed it is harmless.
The cold freezes the fluid within the lesion’s cells. Those cells break down, the body clears them, and healthy skin grows in their place.
Most patients describe a short, sharp cold sting that fades within seconds. Each lesion takes only moments to treat, and no injection or anaesthetic is needed.
A home kit treats blind. It cannot tell you whether the thing you are freezing is a harmless skin tag or something that needs a proper look, and it gives you no control over how deep the freeze goes. In clinic, a Consultant diagnoses the lesion first, then sets the freeze to suit it. That is the real difference: the diagnosis, not just the cold.
A small crust usually forms over the treated area. That is normal healing. Keep it clean and dry, resist picking it, and let it come away on its own.
Most people see the lesion dry, darken and detach within a few weeks. Larger or more stubborn lesions take longer and occasionally need a second session.
The treated lesion is permanently destroyed. Warts come from a virus, though, so a small number need more than one session, and new lesions can still appear elsewhere over time.
Side effects are usually mild: temporary redness, a small blister, or a lighter or darker patch of skin that settles over the following months. Your doctor talks you through the risks that apply to your particular lesion before you agree to treatment.
Treatments are £195 for 1 to 3 skin tags or moles, and £325 for 4 to 6. If you have more than six lesions or a larger area to treat, we will give you a clear, personalised quote at your consultation.
