Skin Lesion Removal in Birmingham

Skin tags, warts, verrucas and other small skin lesions are very common, and while most are harmless, they can be uncomfortable, catch on clothing or simply knock your confidence. At House of Health, we remove them quickly and safely using advanced CryoPen cryotherapy in Birmingham, carried out by a trained practitioner in a professional medical setting.

It is a fast, precise treatment with no cutting and no stitches, and most lesions are treated in minutes. Every treatment starts with a short consultation, so we can check the lesion is suitable and agree the right plan with you before we begin.

Important: Please Read Before Booking

CryoPen treatment is for benign (non-cancerous) skin lesions such as skin tags, warts, verrucas and certain moles. It is not a treatment for skin cancer and cannot diagnose or rule it out. If a mole or skin lesion is new, changing in size, shape or colour, bleeding, itchy or in any way concerning, please book a consultation so it can be properly assessed first. Where anything looks unusual, we will recommend a dermatology assessment rather than removal. Your safety always comes first.

What We Treat

Skin Lesions We Treat At Our Birmingham Clinic

CryoPen can treat a wide range of common, benign skin lesions. Below are the ones we remove most often. All are treated with the same quick, precise freezing technique, and your practitioner will confirm suitability at your consultation.

LesionWhat it isHow CryoPen treats it
Skin TagsSmall, soft, flesh-coloured growths, often where skin rubs, such as the neck, underarms or eyelids.Frozen at the base so the tag dries and drops away, usually in one quick session.
WartsRough, raised growths caused by a virus, commonly found on the hands and fingers.Freezing destroys the affected tissue and helps your body clear the virus. May need more than one session.
VerrucasWarts on the soles of the feet, often flat and sometimes painful to stand on.Targeted freezing treats the verruca without cutting. More stubborn verrucas may need repeat sessions.
Benign MolesRaised or flat pigmented spots that are harmless but unwanted.Suitable moles can be treated after assessment. Anything unusual is referred for a dermatology check first.
Seborrhoeic KeratosesWaxy, wart-like patches that tend to appear with age, usually brown or tan.Frozen precisely to remove the raised patch while protecting the surrounding skin.
MiliaTiny white bumps, often around the eyes, caused by trapped keratin under the skin.Gently treated to clear the bump with minimal marking.

Not sure what you have, or whether it can be treated? That is exactly what your consultation is for. We will take a look, confirm suitability and talk you through your options.

Benefits

The Benefits of CryoPen Treatment

CryoPen offers a modern alternative to older removal methods and to home remedies. Patients choose it because it is:

Quick

Most lesions are treated in a few minutes, and you can usually get back to your day straight away.

No Cutting, No Stitches

CryoPen freezes the lesion, so there is no scalpel, no bleeding and no need for stitches.

Minimal Scarring

Because treatment is precise and controlled, it protects the surrounding skin and leaves little to no mark.

Precise

The fine tip targets only the lesion, making it well-suited to delicate areas such as the face and eyelids.

Little Downtime

There is no lengthy recovery. Most people carry on as normal, following some simple aftercare.

Suitable for Many Lesions

One device treats skin tags, warts, verrucas and more, so a range of concerns can be handled in one visit.

Your Journey

What to Expect: The CryoPen Treatment Process

1

Your Consultation

We start with a short assessment to look at the lesion, confirm it is suitable for CryoPen and answer your questions. If anything needs a doctor’s opinion first, we will arrange that. There is no obligation to go ahead.

2

The Treatment

If you are happy to proceed, treatment is quick. The CryoPen releases a fine jet of freezing agent directly onto the lesion for a few seconds. You may feel a sharp, cold, stinging sensation, but it is brief, and most people tolerate it well without anaesthetic.

3

Aftercare

The treated area may sting, turn red, or swell slightly, and a small blister or scab may form. This is normal and part of how the lesion is removed. You can usually return to your normal activities right away.

4

Recovery & Healing

Over the following days to a couple of weeks, the lesion dries, darkens and falls away, and the skin underneath heals. We give you simple aftercare advice, such as keeping the area clean and not picking at any scab.

5

Follow-Up

Some lesions, especially warts and verrucas, need more than one session. If a repeat treatment is needed, we will let you know and arrange it. We are always here if you have any questions as you heal.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Skin lesion removal is a simple procedure to remove small, unwanted growths on the skin, such as skin tags, warts, verrucas, and certain moles. At our clinic, we use CryoPen cryotherapy, which freezes the lesion so it dries and falls away naturally.

Most skin tags, warts and verrucas are completely harmless. However, some skin changes do require assessment, so we always evaluate a lesion before treating it. If a mole or growth looks unusual, we will recommend a proper assessment first.

CryoPen is a medical device that delivers a fine, controlled jet of freezing agent directly onto a lesion. The cold destroys the unwanted tissue while protecting the healthy skin around it. It is precise and quick, and it does not involve any cutting.

Most people feel only a brief, sharp, cold or stinging sensation during treatment, which lasts a few seconds. Anaesthetic is not usually needed. The area may feel tender for a short time afterwards.

The freezing itself takes only a few seconds per lesion, and a typical appointment lasts around 15 to 30 minutes, including your assessment and aftercare advice.

There is very little downtime. The treated area may redden, swell slightly or form a small blister or scab. Over the next few days to a couple of weeks, the lesion dries and falls away, and the skin heals. Simple aftercare is all that is needed.

Many skin tags are treated in a single session. Warts and verrucas can be more stubborn and sometimes need a repeat treatment. We will always let you know if further sessions are likely.

Once a skin tag is removed, it does not usually return in the same spot, although new ones can form elsewhere. Warts and verrucas are caused by a virus, so there is a small chance of recurrence, which is why more than one treatment is sometimes needed.

Yes. Home kits and DIY methods can cause scarring, infection or incomplete removal, and they skip the important step of checking that the lesion is harmless. Professional CryoPen treatment is safer, more precise and more reliable.

We can treat certain benign moles, but only after assessment. Moles that are new, changing or unusual should always be checked by a doctor first, and we will arrange an assessment where needed rather than removing them.

Treatments are £195 for 1 to 3 skin tags or moles, and £325 for 4 to 6. If you have more than six lesions or a larger area to treat, we will give you a clear, personalised quote at your consultation.

No. You can book a consultation directly, in person or by phone, without a GP referral.
