Location
Lipomas can occur anywhere on the body. This is one of the main distinctions between lipomas and skin cysts. Skin cysts tend to occur just underneath the skin whereas lipomas can be deeper than this. In fact lipomas can occur quite deep and are sometimes beneath muscle and so can be difficult to remove. This is why it may be necessary to get a scan prior to lipoma removal for lipomas in certain locations.

His medical journey began in 2001 with a degree in medicine, followed by basic and advanced surgical training.
