Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in Birmingham

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves relaxing inside a pressurised chamber while you breathe a higher concentration of oxygen. Many people use HBOT treatment in Birmingham to support recovery, energy and general wellbeing. At House of Health, it is delivered by a CQC-registered primary healthcare clinic with real clinical oversight, not a wellness studio bolting a chamber onto a spa menu.

That clinical setting is the difference. Because we already run blood testing, IV therapies and hair loss treatment under one roof, HBOT treatment here can be part of a properly assessed plan, on its own or paired with the right supporting therapy for you.

Important: Please Read Before Booking

Our chamber is a mild, wellness-grade hyperbaric unit (around 1.3 to 1.5 ATA). It is designed to support relaxation and recovery, and it is not the same as the higher-pressure clinical equipment hospitals use for wound care or decompression illness.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at House of Health is offered as a wellness and recovery support treatment. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, and results vary between individuals. HBOT treatment is not suitable for everyone (see Safety & Suitability below). If you have a health concern, please speak to your GP or one of our clinicians.

The Basics

What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing a higher concentration of oxygen inside a pressurised chamber. The raised pressure increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry in plasma, which supports your body’s own natural recovery process. A session with us is calm and private, and typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Many clients use the time to rest, read or simply switch off.

When people ask us what HBOT does and what its benefits are, we keep it honest. Many clients find HBOT treatment helps them feel recovered, energised and relaxed, and we are always clear about what real oxygen therapy benefits are and what it can and cannot do.

Clinician-Led & CQC-Registered

Your session is overseen within a CQC-registered primary healthcare clinic, with clinical staff on hand, not a spa or a studio.

A Mild, Wellness-Grade Chamber

We are open about our equipment: a mild hyperbaric chamber for wellness and recovery, described honestly rather than dressed up as hospital treatment.

More Than a Standalone Treatment

Because we run blood tests, IV therapies and hair care too, HBOT can be paired with genuine clinical assessment, not sold as an isolated extra.

Honest About the Evidence

We only tell you what HBOT can and cannot do. Where the evidence is limited, we say so, so you can make an informed choice.

Ways to Experience HBOT

Four Ways to Experience HBOT Treatment in Birmingham

HBOT works well on its own, but it is at its most useful as part of a plan. Choose a standalone session, or pair it with a supporting therapy matched to your goal. Every combined programme is guided by our clinical team.

ProgrammeWhat it combinesWho it suits
Standalone HBOTA single, calm session in our Birmingham hyperbaric chamber.Anyone wanting recovery, relaxation or a time out; a simple way to try HBOT.
Hair Recovery ProgrammePRP microneedling, low-level laser and HBOT, in sequence.People having PRP hair therapy who want the most comfortable, premium version. HBOT is the recovery-comfort step here, not a hair transplant recovery.
Energy & LongevityIV NAD+ therapy and HBOT, as a cellular recovery pairing.Professionals and biohackers interested in recovery and energy.
Oxygen & Iron RecoveryIV iron infusion therapy and HBOT, with an optional iron and ferritin blood test first.People with iron deficiency or low iron, especially women, and endurance athletes.

Each combined programme is clinician-guided and, where relevant, preceded by a blood test, something a wellness studio cannot offer. We match the right pairing to you at your consultation.

Who It’s For

Who Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Is For

HBOT treatment suits a wide range of people, and you do not need to feel unwell to benefit from a recovery session. We commonly see:

Athletes & Active People

Gym-goers, runners and five-a-side players who want to build recovery time into a busy training week.

Professionals & Biohackers

People already investing in their health and longevity who like to pair HBOT with IV NAD+ therapy.

Fatigue & Low Iron

Those feeling run down, where low iron may play a part. We can check your levels first and pair HBOT with an iron infusion therapy.

Hair Recovery

PRP hair patients who want the most comfortable version of their treatment, with HBOT as the recovery step.

Self-Care & Relaxation

Anyone wanting a private hour to switch off and reset after a heavy week, or a thoughtful gift for someone who does.

Social Shisha Users

Our dedicated oxygen recovery after a shisha session provides a clinician-led health check in a friendly, non-judgemental setting.

Your Session

What to Expect at Your HBOT Session in Birmingham

You can book online, by phone or over WhatsApp. If you are unsure whether HBOT is right for you, ask us first, or book a quick chat with a clinician. There is no pressure to proceed.

We check a short suitability form (see Safety & Suitability below) and answer any questions. Wear comfortable clothing. There is nothing complicated to prepare.

You relax in the pressurised chamber for 60 to 90 minutes while breathing higher-concentration oxygen. You may feel a gentle fullness in your ears as the pressure changes, similar to being on a plane. Most people rest, read or listen to something.

Most people carry on with their day straight away. If your session is part of a combined programme, we sequence it with your PRP, NAD+ therapy or iron treatment for the best comfort and convenience.

If you would like regular sessions, our packages and rolling monthly membership bring the per-session price down. We will help you choose what fits your goals and budget.

Uncontrolled epilepsy
A collapsed lung (pneumothorax) that has not been treated

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

It is a treatment where you relax inside a pressurised chamber and breathe a higher concentration of oxygen. The raised pressure lets your blood carry more oxygen in plasma, which supports your body’s natural recovery process. Ours is a mild, wellness-grade chamber.

Calm and private. You sit or lie down in the chamber and breathe as normal. You may notice a gentle fullness in your ears as the pressure changes, much like taking off in a plane. Most people rest, read or listen to something.

A typical session lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Combined programmes may take a little longer, because they include a supporting therapy such as PRP, NAD+ or an iron infusion.

HBOT is well tolerated by most people, but it is not suitable for everyone. It should be avoided or discussed with a doctor first if you are pregnant, have certain ear or sinus conditions or a blocked nose, have uncontrolled epilepsy, an untreated collapsed lung, or find enclosed spaces difficult. Our clinical team checks your suitability before you start.

That depends on your goal. Some people enjoy the occasional standalone session, while others prefer a package or membership for regular recovery. We will talk through a sensible plan with you rather than sell you sessions you do not need.

Yes, and that is where House of Health is different. We offer HBOT alongside PRP hair care, IV NAD+ and IV iron infusion, all under one CQC-registered roof, with a blood test first where it is helpful.

Used on its own, there is no strong clinical evidence that hyperbaric oxygen regrows hair. It does seem to help with recovery comfort after a PRP or laser session, with some studies showing less scalp irritation and itching afterwards. We will always be straight with you about what the evidence does and does not show.

No. NHS hyperbaric medicine uses higher-pressure clinical chambers for specific conditions such as wound care and decompression illness. Ours is a mild, wellness-grade chamber offered for recovery and wellbeing, which is different.

A single session is £75, with an introductory first session at £45. Packages bring the price down to as low as £50 per session, and a monthly membership is £220 for four sessions. Combined programmes start at £250.

No. You can book directly, in person, by phone or over WhatsApp, without a referral.

Yes. Our £45 introductory session is a low-cost way to try HBOT before committing to a package.
